Feb till December 2012   NIAGARA ON THE EVE OF WAR  An exhibition at the Niagara Historical Museum.  This exhibition explores what Niagara-on-the-Lake looked like before war was declared, exposes the civilian experience and commemorates the Battle of Queenston Heights and Isaac Brock’s legacy. June 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2012 - Bicentennial Grand Opening Celebrations     
DECLARATION OF WAR! - Military Ball on the eve of the declaration of the War of 1812 dinner with British and American officers put on by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Historical Society and Museum. Many events planned for three days in Niagara-on-the-Lake including special events over the week-end at Fort George.

July 1 - Canada Day - historic celebration. Canada Day is a family event celebrating our national heritage and this event marks the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 and the 25th for the Friends of Fort George organizing this event. Join us during the day at Simcoe Park for music and entertainment starting with a pancake breakfast and later a barbeque lunch. There will also be an antique auto display at Simcoe Park. In the afternoon the masterpiece cake from Willow Cakes and Pastry will be paraded down Queen St to Simcoe Park and served free to the public by local dignitaries. 

Fort George will be open and free all day and evening. In the evening show will feature the Fife and Drum Corps, military demonstrations, and several youth orchestras in a wonderful presentation of classical and contemporary pieces. Closing off the evening is the band More Bad News and The Horns from Hell back by popular demand, and a GRAND fireworks finale.  July 13, 14, 15, 2012 The Navy of 1812: Sailors on the Lakes
Naval encampment on the grounds of Navy Hall, Niagara-on-the-Lake, with 5 tall ships (4 Brigantines and a schooner-1812 Squadron) and 22 longboats with 200 naval re-enactors. Plans call for a Longboat Processional Row Saturday morning July 14 and an Assault landing exercise on Saturday afternoon at Queens Royal Park featuring Defense Force marines and a "sham battle". Events will Include theatrical performances by the Loyalist Theatre. "The Sailors' World in 1812" encampment features period music of "Gin Lane" and dancing demonstrations by the Fort York Regency Dancers. Aug 18 & 19 Special 25th Anniversary Fife and Drum Display at Fort George - Bicentennial Fife and Drum Muster and Soldier’s Field Day
Come celebrate the bicentennial at Fort George, Parks Canada.  This weekend-long event is a pageant of military music by Fife and Drum corps from the United States and Canada as well as a competition of 1812 drill teams from Fort George, Fort Malden, Fort York and Fort Erie – a collection of the premier 1812 military sites in Ontario. During this 14th year of the annual Muster and Field Day event, the 41st Regiment Fife and Drum corps will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary at Fort George.    Come and

October 12 & 13 - The Battle of Queenston Heights
Brock's ride to Queenston Heights near Brock's Monument. Hundreds of re-enactors from the United States and Canada will be faithfully re-enacting this famous battle that helped form the Nation of Canada.

October 14 - The Burial of Brock
Funeral procession through Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake including a full period military procession to Fort George, followed by the commemoration of Brock's burial at Brock's bastion  in the Fort.
